A Family Complete

It is personally one of the greatest honors as a  photographer, a newborn session. Unlike so many of my other sessions, where I go into homes, a newborn session carries a different element, a different tone. In good ways, in great ways, in exhausting ways, in upside down ways, this new being has completely changed the lives of two humans. In the case here, this tiny being has changed the lives of 4 humans! Photographing this event is incredibly exciting, it is the beginning of their story together. Everyone is still getting to know their new addition, they have not yet ironed out the details of the relationship and they have not yet come up with an arrangement of roles. That is still to come, the family dynamic still under way.

This is why photographing new life means so much. A family has opened their doors and allowed me in to witness the relationship as it unfolds. It is a delicate time, humans are EXHAUSTED! And yet this new life is so exciting, so rewarding, it is being celebrated over and over again. To be a part of this celebration is a huge honor!

As with this beautiful family and this beautiful life that just happened! I will tell you, it is families such as this that give me cheerful smiles inside my heart! There is something that feels right, there is something that IS RIGHT. A quote from one of my FAVORITE artist of ALL TIME, Mr. Garth Brooks (I will pull on my cowboy boots before I quote him) “You aren’t wealthy until you have something money can’t buy”.
